The event intended to encourage students to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. The event commenced with Lamp Lighting Ceremony and felicitation of the dignitaries. Principal & Dean Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna in his address introduced Dr. Vipul as being a renowned personality in the field of medicine in Uttarakhand. Dr. Vipul has served in many Government Hospitals including Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. In his three year tenure in Safdarjung Hospital he had a chance to operate many complicated cases which included the infamous Nirbhaya Case. He has set up Aarogyadham, a super speciality hospital, in the heart of the city Dehradun to provide good medical facilities and satisfying hospital experience.

Dr. Vipul, an agile personality, began his speech by expressing his contentment to be amidst young generation. His discourse focussed on the consequences of consuming junk food on a daily basis. These processed foods satisfy hunger but have enormous nutritional deficiencies which lead to many lifestyle diseases like obesity, thyroid, cardiovascular problems and the like. In the course of the discussion he emphasised on the need to follow a healthy and a balanced diet which includes greens and fruits. He, being a gentleman grounded to earth, shared some of his childhood memories and insisted the young minds to stick to their roots in whatever profession they may be and this will enable them to set an example for the future progeny. The session culminated with a query session wherein students from various colleges raised thought provoking questions. The interaction gave us insights on various aspects and effects that stem out from the consumption of junk food. Students and faculty members of Law College Dehradun and Mass Communication along with the members of Dainik Jagran Group were present on the occasion.
