Industrial visit to Wadia Institute Of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun

An Industrial visit to Wadia Institute Of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun was organized  by Dr Ajay Singh, HOD Chemistry, for  students of M. Sc (Industrial chemistry)  on  30 October, 2015. This visit aimed at providing  an exposure to the  students to understand the functioning of the  advanced  analytical  technical instruments like XRD, Ion Chromatography, spectrophotometer etc. The students were accompanied by Dr Ajay Singh & Dr. Abhilasha  Mishra to Geology museum, water analysis lab and XRD lab. Mr. Samay Singh, in -charge of XRD briefed the techniques used in XRD and Mr.Pandey explained about the use of Richter scale in monitoring earthquake. The visit enabled the students to realize the need to sustain natural resources and the means to cope up with natural hazards.

 

Industrial visit to Patanjali Food park, Haridwar

An Industrial visit to Patanjali Food park, Haridwar was organized by the department of Chemistry on 2 November, 2015  for the students of M.Sc (Industrial chemistry) & B.Sc (Hons) Food Technology to create an awareness among  students about food  processing, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products. Students were accompanied by Dr Ajay Singh, head of the department, Er. Sanjay Kumar & Dr. Abhilasha Mishra. Mr. K.K. Sharma, Public Relation Officer guided the students to different manufacturing units of Patanjali food park. The primary objective of Patanjali is to provide a source of income and revenue generation for farmers by creating a demand for conventional and non-conventional produce. Students were very much excited to visit soap manufacturing unit, Aloe-vera juice extraction plant, Chyavan Prash and other food processing units. Students also tasted different food samples like amla juice, chyavan prash and anardana. The trip proved to be very informative for the students.
