“Indian Leadership Summit-2018” conducted in Law College Dehradun … provides a glimpse of United Nations

Law College Dehradun, faculty of Uttaranchal University in collaboration with Indian Leadership Summit (ILS) inaugurated its MUN on 8th of September, 2018. The event began with the Lamp Lighting Ceremony in the presence of the distinguished guests and delegates. Following this the Secretary General of the Summit Mr. Faiz Khan declared the event open. The Vice Chancellor of Uttaranchal University Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi and Director – Student Affairs and IT Services Dr. Abhishek Joshi were the Chief Guests of the event. Other distinguished guests included Smt. Sana Khan.

The commencement of the two-day event witnessed huge participation from more than 23 universities and 6 schools from across the nation. ‘ILS- 2018’ had a fantabulous opening and the event saw enrollment from 278 candidates who were a part of the opening ceremony. Six committees were constituted on the pattern of United Nations which includes Janmanch, UNHRC, UNGA, UNCSW & International Press. All the conventions of the event complied with and promulgated the UN pattern. A parade was also organized wherein the participants as delegates of different states took part in the Campus Rally proudly holding the Tricolor Flag.

Janmanch (Rape Law Discussion to make gender neutral effective)
• Effective laws to curb crime rate

Dean & Principal Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna in his address emphasized on the need of awareness regarding domestic, national & international issues for a progressive student in present scenario. Vice Chancellor in his speech stated that such events are organized to encourage the student community to learn and develop leadership qualities, decision making skills and above all to give constructive criticism.

Present on the occasion were Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Rawat, Mr. Razit Sharma and Faculty Members from various universities besides the participants and dignitaries.
