Independence Day was Celebrated at Uttaranchal University.

The Independence Day was celebrated with great respect and enthusiasm in Uttaranchal University. Hon’ble Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Members of the Managing Committee, Office Bearers, Deans/Directors/Principals, Faculty Members, staff and students filled the open ground to celebrate our independence with pride.

Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Jitender Joshi presided over the function after inspecting the ‘Guard of Honor’ presented by the Security Guards of the university. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation he unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. Every heart was full of the spirit of nationalism and patriotism which was visible through their eyes.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. N.K. Joshi addressed the august gathering and awakened everyone’s feeling of pride towards motherland. He saluted all the reverend warriors who won our independence with their blood, laying down their lives so that India could breathe. He expressed the feeling of gratitude towards our soldiers, farmers, scientists, academicians, researchers, those associated with management and judiciary and last but not the least, the youth of India – all serve as wheels leading India towards being a developed nation. He asked everyone to take a pledge towards Clean India- a clean India in every aspect.

Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna, Principal, Law College Dehradun, showcased the importance of “Independence” and instilled respect for our National Song defining the meaning of “Vande Mataram”. He further announced the Hon’ble Chancellor’s commitment to hoist the highest National Flag in Uttarakhand and to set up the reverend “Wall of Heroes” in the campus as a humble attempt to inculcate patriotism in the students and inspiring them through nation’s heroes. One and all applauded the declaration and affirmed that India is the best.

The program concluded with Vote of Thanks by Mr. Nakoti, Estate Officer and distribution of sweets to one and all.
Indeed it was the occasion when everyone showed their love and respect for the nation. All the heads were held high by the shared experience of freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
