The Globe (Global Learning and Observations to benefit the Environment) Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, under the aegis of Uttaranchal University, organized an Awareness Campaign on ‘Save Fuel Save Environment’ and conducted a Walk in the University Campus on 5thFebruary, 2019 under the strong leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Pardeep Suri (Director-UIM).
Dr. Anshul Sharma (HOD-Management), Dr. Sonal Sharma (HOD-IT) and Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat (Cultural & Academic In-charge) graced the occasion by their benign presence. The activity was supervised by Dr. Mamta Bansal (Head – Globe Club), along with the members of Globe Club, namely, Ms. Pooja Gupta, Ms. Kanika Singhal, Ms. Prabhjot Kaur, Mr.Rohit Dhiman and Dr. Diksha Panwar.
The objective of the event was to join hands and create awareness regarding saving fuel which will help in saving mother earth. Fuel like petrol, wood, oils, gases etc. are natural but non renewable resources that produce energy when it burns and undergoes a chemical or nuclear reaction. But as we all know fuel cannot be made synthetically and it is found naturally so it’s judicious use is much more needed not for today but for future generation too. We not only need fuel to run our vehicles but also it is needed for a smooth life and better environment. Taking the previous activity Poster Making Competition (on “No Vehicle Day” held on 30th January, 2019) into consideration, this campaign was organized to educate everyone to save fuel.
Around 150 students participated in the Walk. Such activities strengthen the emotional and mental health of the students and ignite the feelings of compassion towards overall welfare. We should Save Fuel for a Better Environment and Sound Health.
