Eco-Cops of Uttaranchal University celebrates ‘Earth Day – 2021’

As we move through another year in crisis due to the pandemic, the theme of this year’s Earth Day “Restore Our Earth” couldn’t have been better!!
Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 every year to mark the birth anniversary of the modern environmental movement in 1970. Earth Day was celebrated first time, on April 22 in 1970. It became a topic of discussion after more than 20 million Americans took to the streets to protest against environmental ignorance by the government. Since then, it has been an annual event. Events are organized to spread awareness amongst the masses about climate change and global warming. The day inspires everyone to work towards raising awareness about critical issues that the Earth is facing and focus on conserving our environment. The theme this year “Restore Our Earth” focuses on natural processes, emerging green technologies and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems.
