The Photography Club, under the aegis of Department of Communication, organized the ‘Happy Pixels Photography Competition and Exhibition’ on the 25th of March, 2021 with an aim to bring together the fraternity of budding photographers in and around Uttarakhand. The event was adorned with the presence of Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi, Respected Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Devender Pathak, Respected Dean – Law College Dehradun Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna and the judges for the event, Mr. Bhumesh Bharti, Mr. Raju Pushola and Mr. Pawan Negi, the renowned and well-known photographers in the field of photography.
The event commenced with the felicitation and lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries after which the students of Journalism and Mass Communication performed a short folk dance to celebrate togetherness.
Followed by this was an oration by (Prof.) Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna who shared the importance of photographers in this era of developing technology. The judges shared their experiences followed by a speech made by Hon’ble Chancellor and Vice Chancellor.
Over a 100 photographers from all over Uttarakhand took part in the event. Prizes and Certificates were given to the students. Saurav Sharma from the School of Liberal Arts was accorded the First Position, Shaurya Dhawan from School of Applied & Life Sciences stood Second and Arun Singh Rathore from School of Agriculture won the Third Prize.
The event was not only successful but also played an informative and captivating role.
