Pharmacognosy Club is a club of students and faculty members of the Department of Pharmacy officially recognized by the UIPS. This club is run exclusively by the students with the guidance and support of advisors from the faculty. Pharmacognosy club provides knowledge and information on topics such as the production of herbal products from natural resources, traditional knowledge and phytochemical analysis of medicinal plants etc. The club organizes national seminars, guest lecturers, social awareness programmes and workshops. The club also collaborates research projects with leading herbal, cosmetics and pharmaceutical companies and Institutions. As an administrative liaison to the student club, UIPS assists the Pharmacognosy club in academics, extra-curricular activities and events. This club provides students with an opportunity to combine various aspects of academic and/or vocational learning into personal action.
Other objectives of Pharmacognosy club:
- Provide means of Dissemination and Knowledge interchange.
- Formulation specification for herbal/ natural origin.
- To encourage research and development in cosmeceutical and related sciences.
