Introduction: College fests play an important role in a student’s life and have carved out a substantial place for themselves in the academic calendar in recent years. A growing consensus is that a college fest is about more than just having fun; it also enhances a student’s learning experience.
College Fest (FESTLA) testifies that the Uttaranchal Institute of Management recognized the underlined importance of such fests. It helped students to showcase their talent and gaining wider exposure and focused on experiential learning.
Various academic and non- academic clubs have been made in the department under which various competitive and non- competitive activities are designed and executed where the students can participate in these activities according to their talents and potential in various areas which support them and assist them in their future professional stages.
Organizing and participating in fest activities needs arduous efforts and stern dedication. Fest facilitates students to work for a fixed goal in unanimity and this eventually develops a sense of responsibility in them. It elevates confidence and also teaches them how to work in a team and in various challenging situations.
Most of the employers hire students whose potential don’t just revolve around bookish knowledge. Continuous involvement in more than one activity reflects skills and abilities of the student. Students learn to prioritize and time management too. These academically and co-circularly talented students have an outstanding personality, which helps them to forge ahead in their career.
Lastly, the prime intention of a fest is to allow students a period of recreation. Fest replenishes the students with new vigor and enthusiasm. Memories and friendships created in fests are cherished forever. In the life cycle of a student, revolving around studies, ‘College Fest’ shows a certain degree of inflation in the excitement levels of students.
