Dehradun’s first Inter-University Street Play Competition, ‘Chaukhat’, was organized by Doon University on 23rd April, 2018. Eight prominent colleges of Dehradun participated in the event. ‘Parindey’, the Theater Society of Law College Dehradun, bagged the Second Runner-up Trophy and received appreciation from one and all. Their play, entitled “Tamasha-e-Chunav” had its theme weaved around the contemporary scenario of elections in India. The play showcased the reality of Indian politicians and their fake promises clearly visible by their lack of effort in implementing them on ground level. It also intended to educate the masses and encourage them to participate in the elections by casting their vote for the most eligible candidate for the upliftment and betterment of the country. This thought-provoking play was directed by Chaitanya Dev, a student of BBA. LL.B. (Hons.) III Year and a total of nineteen students from the Theater Society of Law College Dehradun participated. Congratulations to the team for their spirit of creating social awareness among the masses.
