E-Cell of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University organized a Workshop on Rural Entrepreneurship on 11 March 2022 at UIM seminar hall. This workshop aims at providing appropriate knowledge about rural entrepreneurship because setting up rural businesses is important and necessary for the development of the economy.
Dr, Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, District Resource Person (MGNCRE) published 8 books, and 23 research papers, and visiting faculty of various national and international universities was the eminent speaker for the said workshop. Ms Neha Rastogi, Head, E-Cell, UIM hosted the workshop for all Management students and welcomed all the dignitaries.
Dr Pradeep Suri, Dean, UIM, Uttaranchal University discussed how in today’s scenario entrepreneurship development is necessary and how Entrepreneurs’ skills and expertise are improved through a variety of training and classroom programs. The goal of entrepreneurship development is to increase the number of people who start businesses. He also demonstrated how a small business might be started in one’s own house by using real-life situations. He went on to say that an entrepreneur is just someone who is an innovator and seizes an opportunity. He highlighted the fact that entrepreneurs are goal-oriented, highly motivated individuals who are willing to take risks in order to achieve their objectives. In the sphere of production, an entrepreneur is a creator of new combinations.
Dr Sanjay Kumar Agarwal started the session with an introduction to entrepreneurship and what are the importance of entrepreneurship in this era of globalization and how entrepreneurship is different from jobs. He further discussed how an entrepreneur can contribute to the development of the economy. He discussed that Rural entrepreneurship is a term that relates to the establishment of new business units and industries in rural areas. It involves carrying out entrepreneurship activities in the rural economy which results in the overall development of the nation. This implies Rural entrepreneurship helps countries in achieving the equitable advancement and development of all areas. It serves as a key tool for overcoming all gaps between urban and non-urban areas whether in terms of infrastructure, job opportunities, health, education etc. He discussed the various schemes which are introduced by the government for the upliftment of rural entrepreneurship like Jandhan Yozna, Ayushmaan yozna and Kissan credit Yozna. Lastly, the Q&A session commenced, where the doubts of the attendees were entertained by Dr Sanjay Kumar Agarwal. This session was a very informative part of the event, as a deeper aspect of the topic was explored, which proved to be very insightful.
In the end, the Master of Ceremony proposed a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries & students. The workshop was very interactive & informative & was a great success and attended by many students from Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University. The workshop was also attended by HoD, Management, Dr Megha Agarwal, along with other Faculty Members of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University.
