A two-day workshop on “Advanced Statistical Techniques in Research” was organized by Department Chemistry, UCALS from 22nd to 23rd-Feb-2019. The Invited Guest / Technical Expert of the Inaugural Session was Prof. (Dr.) Raman Nautiyal (Expert Statistics). The event was inaugurated by the lighting of the auspicious lamp by Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University and Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, (Principal -UCALS), Dr. Poonam Negi, (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, UCALS), and Dr. Waseem Ahmad (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry(UCALS) along with Invited Guests and Technical Experts. Lightning of lamp was followed by presentation of memento and bouquet to all invited guests as a gesture of appreciation.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh who was also the Convener. The event was coordinated by Dr. Poonam Negi, Organizing Secretary and Dr.Waseem Ahmad, Joint Secretary of the workshop whose efforts along with constant support of Dr. Naveen Chandra Joshi, Dr.Vinod Kumar and Mr. Shivam Pandey resulted in successful conduction of the workshop.. The workshop proved to be successful in achieving the target goals and objectives. The main objective of this workshop was to explore & emphasize upon various statistical and research techniques that can be utilized in different research areas and academic domains.
Day 1 Session-I
In his Welcome Address Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi, Vice- Chancellor, Uttaranchal University emphasized on the importance and significance of organizing the workshop and how they are equally valuable for students, academicians and persons from industry. He briefed that such workshops serve as a source of not only updating knowledge base but also provide exposure to latest technologies. Convener of the workshop Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, in his Keynote Address, briefed about the workshop and the expertise of Invited Guests and Technical Experts. In his address he also provided an insight about basic and fundamental knowledge on analytical techniques utilized in industries.
Session II: A lecture was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Raman Nautiyal on ‘Statistical Techniques in Research’. He explained the concept of statistics for researcher with applications.
Day 2 An Industrial Visit was organized to Ved Lifesavers Ltd. Selaqui, for Quality Control and Validation under the guidance of Dr. Anil Singh.
