In order to honor women for their social, economic, cultural and political accomplishment, March 8 is celebrated as Women’s Day. Women Cell, School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, organized a Quiz Competition to celebrate on 11 March 2022.
The title of this quiz was “Great Indian Women”. Students enthusiastically participated in the Quiz. The main objective of the event was to develop the profound knowledge about the famous Indian women and their contribution towards developing societies. Quiz was conducted in three rounds namely, Audio, Visual and MCQ rounds. A screening round of 30 MCQ questions was held at the beginning. Top 8 teams qualified for next rounds. The winners of the quiz competitions were:
1st Prize: Tanuj and Aman B Sc (Hons) Biotechnology, 1st year.
2nd Prize: Agasthya B Sc (Hons) Chemistry and Yash, B Sc (Hons) Physics, 1st Year.
3rd Prize: Ramanpreet and Shweta B Sc (Hons) Biotechnology 1st Year.
Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh Dean, SALS appreciated the efforts of the women cell for creating awareness amongst the students regarding renowned women of our country. All the members of Women Cell namely, Prof (Dr) Bharti Ramola, Head, along with Prof (Dr) Poonam Negi, Dr Indra Ruatela, Coordinator, Dr Sukriti Singh and Dr Shalu Chaudhary along with Dr Himani Badoni, Dr Minakshi Rajput, Dr Sadhna Awasthi were present. The Quiz was coordinated by Dr Indra Ruatela and Dr Sukriti Singh along with Dr Minakshi Rajput, and student coordinators Kashish Singh Parihar and Naitik Bhardwaj.
