Vishwakarma Puja was celebrated on 17 September 2015 in UIT, Uttaranchal University

Vishwakarma is known as the divine Engineer since the Puranic age. As a mark of reverence the Lord Vishwakarma is not only worshiped by the engineering community but also by all other professionals. According to Hindu mythology Lord Vishwakarma   is the builder of all the gods’ palaces, and the designer of all celestial vehicles and weapons.

Vishwakarma Puja was celebrated on 17 September 2015 in Uttaranchal Institute of  Technology, Uttaranchal University with great fervor. The puja was attended by hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Jitender Joshi, Director S.A & I.T. Services Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) SC Joshi, Registrar Mr. S.C. Sharma, Prof. N.K. Joshi Director UIT, HOD Mechanical Engineering Mr. Sanjeev Joshi, HOD Civil Engineering Mr. Gaurav Pandey and faculty and students of Mechanical and Civil Department. The puja was performed by the Chancellor and Director S.A & I.T. Services Dr. Abhishek Joshi, in the college workshop followed by hawan and arti to all the equipments in the workshop. In the end Prasad was distributed among the students and staff.

The Chancellor extended his hearty greetings to the students, faculties and staff members of the Uttaranchal University on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and Vishwakarma Puja. Abhishek Joshi, Director – Student affairs and IT Services stated in his message that Lord Ganesha and Lord Vishwakarma hold great significance in Indian culture. Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) SC Joshi, in his speech stated that the students should make a promise to update themselves in latest innovations and technologies.  Prof. N K Joshi, Director, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology stated that Lord Vishwakarma is believed to be the creator of the universe and the lord of labour and hard work. Worshipping Lord Vishwakarma is a way of showing respect to hard work.
