Uttaranchal University has collaborated with NPTEL (SWAYAM) – Local Chapter from IIT Madras and has been approved as the NPTEL Local Chapter (IIT Madras) on 7th August, 2018. The resources of NPTEL will be available on intranet for students and staff which includes video and web courses.
The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), a project funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), provides e-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Sciences, Technology, Management and Humanities. It has developed curriculum based video courses and web-based e-courses targeting students and faculty of institutions offering UG Engineering Programs. This is a joint initiative of seven IITs and IISc Bangalore. Other selected premier institutions also act as Associate Partner Institutions.
The Single Point of Contact (SPOC) of the Local Chapter of NPTEL is Dr. Sumit Chaudhary, Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department. NPTEL will keep the SPOC updated about all the latest NPTEL initiatives and give him information which he can disseminate among the students. He will identify suitable mentors for various courses, who can ensure that students are active in a course, are submitting their assignments on time and also clarify the doubts they may have.
