On the auspicious occasion of Republic Day Uttaranchal University organized a ‘Cricket Tournament’ on 26th January, 2018. Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi was the Chief Guest of the event. Prof. (Dr.) N.K.Joshi, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Director- Student Affairs and IT Services, Mr Ajai Singh, Registrar, witnessed the event along with the Dean/Director/Principal, Head of the Departments, Faculty Members and Staff Members of constituent colleges.
Mr. Naresh Semwal (Law College Dehradun) and Mr. Rakesh Semwal (UIM) were the Umpires of the tournament.
The following three teams participated in the tournament:
Team 1 : Law College and UIM
Team 2 : Computer Centre Staff
Team 3 : Administrative Staff – UIT
The tournament was comprised of three matches. The first match was played between Team 3 (Administrative Staff – UIT) and Team 2 (Computer Centre Staff). The winner of this match was Team 3 (Administrative Staff – UIT) and Mr. Santosh Rangar was declared the ‘Man-of-the-Match’.
The second match was played between Team 1 (Law College and UIM) and Team 2 (Computer Centre Staff).The winner of this match was Team 1 (Law College and UIM) and Mr. Mukul Rawat of Law College was declared the ‘Man-of-the Match’.
The final match was played between Team 1 (Law College and UIM) versus Team 3 (Administrative Staff – UIT).The winner of the final match was Team 1 (Law College and UIM) and Mr. Mukul Rawat was declared as the ‘Man-of-the-Match’ as well as ‘Man-of-the-Series’.
The Tournament concluded with ‘Prize Distribution Ceremony’ and Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. J. S.Nakoti (Estate Officer).
