NSS Unit of Uttaranchal University organizes ‘Pledge Taking Ceremony’ aiming Vigilance Awareness against Corruption

Corruption is a malice, which is eating into the very ethos of our society and taking a heavy toll on our economy. People lose trust and belief in the administration due to Corruption. In pursuit of Government’s vision to present New India by the year 2022, the Central Vigilance Commission, an apex integrity institution of India, endeavors to promote integrity, transparency and accountability in public life.

Uttaranchal University shares the vision of the government of India and believes in creating a society that is completely free of the vices of corruption. In pursuit of this aim the NSS Unit of Uttaranchal University organized a pledge taking ceremony on November 01, 2019 to reiterate its commitment with honest practices in the public and social life. The NSS unit has also organized a series of lectures by the expert academicians on this day to inform and educate the young learners of the university about the various nuances of this matter.

While addressing the gathering on this occasion the Honorable Chancellor of the University said that the anti-corruption drive needed to clean partially if not fully the malaises that plague the society. It should be taken up in a systematic and structured manner. It is therefore necessary to motivate the youth, as stakeholders in nation building, to collectively combat corruption at all level.

He further added that it was an effort to raise public awareness against the threat posed by corruption and to make the entire society conscious of their right to live in a corruption free society.
