Uttaranchal University makes a mark and wins accolades in the ‘Award Ceremony’ of “Hon’ble Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Centennial Year Celebrations & Youth Cultural Event”
“Hon’ble Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Centennial Year Celebrations & Youth Cultural Event” was organized at Ghosh Auditorium and ONGC Ground by All India Society of Education on 24th & 25th, November, 2019. Various cultural, sports and academic activities were conducted on the occasion. A large number of Universities and Institutes of Dehradun participated in the event.
The event started with Saraswati Vandana sung by the students of Law College Dehradun, Uttaranchal University, namely, Prachi Raj, Akshat Goyal, Vastavikta Bharadwaj, Shaktija, Aditya Raman, Akash Sharma, Naina Bhatt and Vastala Shukla.
A brilliant performance of kathak for Welcome Dance was presented by Prithvi and Aashika of Law College Dehradun, Uttaranchal University.
The next event on schedule was Competitive Dance Performance comprising of Garhwali and Kumaoni Folk Dances wherein students of different Universities participated. The students of UIM gave the winning performance. They performed a Garwhali Folk Dance. The team comprised of Deeksha Chauhan, Shivani Rawat, Janvi Chauhan, Reeta, Priya Purohit, Anita. Their performance was appreciated by one and all present.
In Debate Competition Samridhdi Kandpal of School of Liberal Arts stood Second.
In sports Arushi Bisht of School of Liberal Arts stood Second in 200 m.
On the first day the students were accompanied by Mr. Arvind Singh Rawat(UIT) and Ms. Kanchan Anand (LCD).
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 25th November, 2019 which was presided over by Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Smt. Baby Rani Maurya who gave away the prizes to the winners. A large number of renowned politians of Uttarakhand were also present.
Prof. Rita Bahuguna, MP from Allahabad constituency, who was the organizer of the event, motivated the participants and highly admired the performance of the students of Uttaranchal University who also won prizes in various competitions. She also applauded the Kathak Performance of Prithvi.
Hon’ble Chancellor and Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor of Uttaranchal University congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of Cultural Head Dr. Bharti Ramola and her team members from various constituent colleges of Uttaranchal University.
Dr. Bharti Ramola, Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat and Mr. Abhishek Pathak accompanied the students along with Student Coordinators, namely Aarohi Garg, Nehal Saraf, Naitik Bhatt and Yash Upadhayaya and a large number of students of Uttaranchal University.
