Uttaranchal University celebrated “National Technology Day” on 11th May 2022, as it was on this day in 1998 the country successfully conducted the Pokhran nuclear tests under the leadership of Dr. A.P.J Abdul kalam and Shri Atal Bihari Bajpai. The inaugural ceremony was held in hybrid mode (online & offline) and participants from different institutes attended the session. Honorable Chancellor Shri Jitendra Joshi has inaugurated the event by lamp lighting and addressed the audience. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dharam Buddhi said technology plays important role in growth of Nation and technology should be used only for the benefit of society not to harm it. The theme of the event was Integrated approach in science and technology for sustainable future.
Guest speaker of the event Dr. Pushpendra P Singh, Director and Principal Investigator of iHub – AWaDH (Agriculture & Water Technology Development Hub), IIT Ropar emphasized on the sustainable development of the technology. He emphasized on the innovations which leads to applications of already known technology for the new concepts. He said collaboration is key to innovations. Prof. Rajesh Singh said we are celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and need is to focus on the sustainable development for future generation and proposed vote of the thanks.
Other dignitaries Prof. Ajay Singh, Prof. Anita Gehlot, Prof. S.K.Shah, faculty, students and organizing committee members were present.
