Uttaranchal University organized a special programme on 8th July, 2021 at its venue of grandeur Swami Vivekanand Auditorium, to acknowledge, recognize and commend the phenomenal contribution of Late Dr. Nirmal Chandra Uniyal, University Librarian and Director IQAC, who fell victim to the onslaughts of Corona Pandemic. Wife of the deceased, Smt. Vandana Uniyal along with other family members were present on the occasion.
Hon’ble Chancellor of Uttaranchal University Shri Jitender Joshi presented a Shawl and a Memento to Smt.Vandana Uniyal along with a Cheque of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Five Lakh).
In his address, Officiating Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna informed that Late Dr. Nirmal Chand Uniyal was University Librarian of Uttaranchal University. During his stint in the university he successfully undertook many assignments including that of Director – IQAC and Head – ERP Cell in addition to his regular assignments.
Getting emotional during his address, Hon’ble Chancellor stated that Late Dr. Uniyal was an exemplary asset to the University and said, “Dr. Uniyal immensely contributed to the overall progress of the University. His role was instrumental in University’s NAAC process.” Chancellor Shri Joshi announced that the University would bear the higher education expenses of his children and a letter to that effect was given by the Registrar of the University to Smt. Vandana Uniyal.
On this occasion, all the Deans, Head of Departments, Teaching Staff and Non-teaching Staff of the University were present.
