Civil Engineering Department of Uttaranchal Institute of Technology organized a Seminar on “Project Management and Analytical Skills” for the students of B.Tech. (CE) IV Year on 3rd March, 2020. The students prepared a presentation on their ongoing projects.
The initiation, planning, execution, control and closing of the projects were discussed with the Faculty Members and the students. The importance of working on specific goals to achieve over a defined timeline using a determined budget was discussed. Leadership, communication, scheduling, risk management and cost management of the project were also deliberated on.
Some of the topics discussed were as follows:
- Planning the project from conception to implementation
- Mapping out a timeline
- Executing each phase
- Creating, allocating, and managing budget
- Communicating among all group members
- Troubleshooting any issues
- Delivering (and often maintaining) the end goals
The Seminar was organized by Mr. Ashish Pathani, (Project Incharge) and Mr. Vinod Balmiki. The Seminar concluded with end notes delivered by Mr. Awadhesh Chandramauli, Head – Department of Civil Engineering.
