Ragging in any form is a criminal offence and invites stern and deterrent punishment to the offenders as per the Anti Ragging Act.
Uttaranchal Institute of Technology under the aegis of Uttaranchal University organized a Workshop on “Awareness of Anti Ragging Guidelines & Measures” on 31st August 2018.
The Workshop was initiated with the address of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi, wherein he, on behalf of Uttaranchal University, extended his support to the new students as they embarked on their expedition of honing their competence in Uttaranchal University. His address created a warm ambience that formed an atmosphere that minimized anxiety, promoted positive attitude, and stimulated an excitement for learning.
Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna (Principal-Law College and Chairman-Anti Ragging Committee) enlightened the gathering on the various aspects of Ragging & gave his opinion on Ragging and its effects on humanity. He also emphasised on Ragging and its consequences & existing legal system for punishment against such actions.
Mr. Sunil Ghildhiyal concluded the programme with a Vote of Thanks.
The programme was attended by Dr. Sumit Chaudhary , Dr. Shriya Goyal , Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi , Mr. Devender Singh , Mr. Amit Kumar Sharma, Mr. Amit Bhauguna, Mr. Adesh Kumar, Dr. Sunil Ghildhiyal, Mr. Himanshu Goel along with Anti- Ragging Committee Members & Anti Ragging Squad Members.
