Uttaranchal Institute of Technology celebrates ‘International Yoga Day 2021’

Yoga is a trend that has been flourishing; rather this has become a trendsetter in maintaining both physical and mental well-being. Each Yogic activity is a key to improving flexibility, strength, balance and attaining harmony. December 11th of 2014 holds a special position in the hearts of the Indians. The United Nations General Assembly declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga.

 

On 21st June, 2021, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology celebrated “International Yoga Day”. The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) S.D Pandey, Dean-UIT, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, Head-ME, Dr. Minakshi Memoria, Head-CSE, Mr. Awadhesh Chandramauli, Head-CE, Mr. Devendra Singh, Head- ECE & Dr. Shushant Singh, Asst. Prof. ME along the faculty members of various departments.

The event started with the speech of the Dean Prof. Dr. S.D. Pandey who stated the importance of International Yoga Day. He stated that International Yoga Day is celebrated throughout the world on the initiative taken by the Indian Government in the United Nations to make people aware of their health and stay healthy. He also stated the reason for choosing 21st of June as International Yoga Day as this day is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Laying emphasis on the benefits of Yoga he suggested that everyone should include Yoga in their daily life.

The faculty members of Uttaranchal Institute of Technology were present on the occasion. The event concluded with a Meditation Session and a word of thanks from Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi (Head-ME).
