Dr.Anuj Mittal, Director-UIPS, warmly welcomed the Guest and students in his introductory speech.

He said that the clinical skill may contain one or several different domains such as: physical examination skills, practical procedure, communication skills and management. He informed that acquiring clinical skills includes three components: learning how to perform certain movements (procedural knowledge), why one should do so (underlying basic science knowledge), and what the findings might mean (clinical reasoning). He explained the initial step in examining the development in the field as well as clinical skills required to assess a patient, diagnose a condition, decide on treatment, monitor response to treatment and recognise when symptoms or signs may indicate serious disease.

All the students showed keen interest and actively participated in the session.  An open session was conducted to clear the doubts of students regarding clinical studies.

The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Amit Semwal.
