Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Dehradun, Uttaranchal University under the banner of Pharmacology Club organized a free health checkup camp in village Shivpuri, Dhaulas, Dehradun on 18th December 2021. Health Care Initiative is one of the best practices of UIPS and to continue this practice UIPS has been organizing the Health Check-up Camp in village Shivpuri, Dhaulas, Dehradun. Dr Rishabh Joshi, MBBS, and his renowned team attended the camp. The overall health condition of all the Villagers was checked by the doctors.
After the check-up, the doctors prescribed necessary medication, actions, and precautions if needed to be taken. Besides health checkups, patient counseling and distribution of medicines were also done by the students of Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
In the camp, 60 patients registered for the check-up for major complaints like Hypertension, Diabetes, Common flu, etc for which they are provided with the appropriate medicines as prescribed by the team of doctors. Apart from this, the BMI of local school children, Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure was also checked by the pharmacy students of the university and were provided with basic counseling on ailments and the use of medicines.
The event was wrapped up in the evening with a vote of thanks by Gram Pradhan of village Shivpuri, Dhaulas, Dehradun Ms Rajni Devi, Manjit Singh Negi, Ashok Negi (MLA Representative and former Gram Pradhan) on behalf of the entire villagers. They expressed their thanks towards Honorable Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof ( Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Dr. Vikash Jakhmola, Dean, UIPS, event coordinators Mr Ankit Sharma, Ms Pallavi Ghildiyal, Ms Nidhi Gairola, Assistant Professor, UIPS, Dheeraj Bisht and the students of UIPS for the successful organization of the event.
The Camp was conceptualized and conducted under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Dean, UIPS, Dr Amit Semwal, HoD, UIPS, and the Camp was coordinated by Ms Pallavi Ghildiyal, Ms Nidhi Gairola, and Dr Ankit Sharma, Assistant Professor, UIPS with Mr Peeush Yadav and Ms Neha Singh as the student members of the Pharmacology Club.
