Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrates ‘National Safety Day’

Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrated ‘National Safety Day’ by organizing a Lecture on ‘COVID-19, Corona Virus’ for the students of Pharmacy on 4th March, 2020. Ms. Pallavi Ghildiyal delivered a lecture and emphasized on the origin, pathogenesis, prevention and cure of the disease.

Prof. (Dr.) Anuj Mittal, Director – UIPS, felicitated Ms. Pallavi Ghildiyal for the Lecture. In her lecture Ms. Ghildiyal discussed about Corona Virus that causes respiratory infection and can transfer from human to human. She told about the origin of the virus from Wuhan, China and its spreading impact in other countries including India.

She informed that the incubation period is for 14 days asymptomatic and the symptoms include fever, cough, abnormal rapid breathing. In the presentation she told about the Do’s and Don’ts to reduce the risk of Coronovirus infection. She said that we should clean hands with soap and water or alcohol based hand sanitizers, cover nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue and avoid close contact with everyone with flu or cold like symptoms.

Ms. Pallavi explained that drinking plenty of water, eating nutritious food and avoiding crowded places can reduce the risk of contamination.

The lecture was highly informative and concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Amit Semwal.
