Uttaranchal Institute of Management organized a two-week Faculty Development Program on ‘Online Teaching Techniques’ from 12 July 2021 to 26 July 2021 to increase the digital proficiency of individual faculty members in developing the most effective pedagogy for online teaching, learning and evaluation. Forty-two faculty members of various colleges took part in this program and benefitted from experts’ deliberations in 25 different technical sessions.
The program started with the Inaugural Session on 12 July 2021 at 2:30 p.m. with Lamp Lighting Ceremony followed by Saraswati Vandana. In this session, Convener of the program Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri introduced the Keynote Speakers for different technical sessions to the participants and welcomed them by presenting bouquets and mementoes as a token of love and respect.
Keynote Speaker of the program Dr. Parikshit Kala enriched the knowledge of the participants by making them completely familiar with the types of learners and pillars of learning. The second Keynote Speaker Dr. Amitabh Bhargava dealt with online teaching and learning strategies. He also discussed the need for digital age education. The third Keynote Speaker Dr. Himani Maheshwari focused on the pedagogy integration with digital tools to foster the digital proficiency of the participants. The fourth Keynote Speaker Dr. Ashulekha Gupta threw light on gaming and simulation techniques to make online teaching and learning more interesting. The fifth Keynote Speaker Dr. Shailesh Chamola drew the significance of teaching with case studies on virtual platforms. The sixth Keynote Speaker Mr. Ishteyaq Ahmad discussed learning management systems and Moodle-based learning. He also discussed the requisites of an ideal digital classroom. The seventh Keynote Speaker Dr. Meenakshi Memoria drew the significance of spiritual intelligence for teaching and learning. She also discussed the emerging trends in online education.
The Valedictory Session of the program was conducted on 26 July 2021 at 3:30 p.m. and lasted for one hour. In the Valedictory Session Coordinator of the program, Dr. Amitabh Bhargava proposed a Vote of Thanks to the Chief Patron, Patron, Organizing Committee
Members, Keynote Speakers and Participants. At the end of the program certificates were distributed to the participants of the program.
