Uttaranchal Institute of Management organizes a Guest Lecture on ‘Body Language and Non-Verbal Communication’

A Guest Lecture on ‘Body Language and Non-Verbal Communication’ was organized by the Department of Management, Uttaranchal Institute of Management on 22nd March, 2018. Mr. Rohit Dhammy was the Keynote Speaker for the event. The event was attended by Dr. SM Mariyam Fatima, Head of the Department – Management, Dr. Sonal Sharma, Head of the Department – IT along with faculty members and first year students of UIM. The programme initiated with the felicitation of the Guest Speaker Mr. Rohit Dhammy by Dr. SM Mariyam Fatima.

The Master of Ceremony, Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat, briefed the students regarding the Key Speaker and his achievements. Mr. Rohit Dhammy has been a Corporate Trainer since many years and conducts workshops on Soft Skills, Language as a Medium for Communication, Leadership Styles, Team Motivation, Team Building, E-mail Etiquettes, Decision Making, and Self- Confidence.

Mr. Rohit Dhammy started his presentation on a very positive note by clarifying that the Hard and Soft Skills are crucial for the realization of professional aspirations. He emphasized on developing Soft Skills which primarily comprise of Body Language and Non-Verbal Communication.

He also created awareness regarding different Body Languages which are a part of Inter-personal Skills. Besides, the Guest Speaker also enlightened the students on various aspects of non-verbal communication like dressing sense, eye contact, hand and body postures and different movements of the body.

The session became interactive towards the end with students putting forward their queries in relation to body language in different cultural contexts and other confusions pertaining to it. The programme was well coordinated by the Master of the Ceremony, Mr. Ravindra Rawat.

The event was a great success and it culminated with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Bipin Kandpal (Head, CRC-UIM).
