Department of Computer Applications, Uttaranchal Institute of Management organized a 14-day Faculty Development Programme on ‘Machine Learning using Python’ in collaboration with Ensino, Research and Development Pvt. Ltd. from 17 th April to 30 th April, 2019 for the Faculty Members of the Department of Computer Applications.
The purpose of the FDP was to equip the Faculty Members with the skills in the domain of Machine Learning and its Applications. Mr. Savood Ahmed (Trainer, Ensino) was the Invited Expert.
In the Inaugural Ceremony Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri stated the importance of keeping oneself update, especially in the field of Information Technology. Prof. Suri also encouraged the faculty members to attend such FDPs.
Mr. Savod Ahmed started the session with the basic concepts of Python. He initiated with instigating programming and debugging using Python. He elaborated the concepts of Python along with the Database connectivity. It included practice of some hands-on examples of Python using Database Connectivity like complete implementation of an ATM using MySQL.
Later on, Mr. Ahmed introduced the concept of Django, which is a Python-based free and open-source web framework which follows the MVC Model. He dealt with the conceptual introduction of Machine Learning and explained the Applications of Machine Learning to the participants by giving various examples using Matplot and Pandas Libraries.
The FDP ended with a Valedictory Ceremony wherein Dr. Sonal Sharma proposed a Vote of Thanks.
This Faculty Development Programme turned out to be a huge success with the support of Mr.Ravinder Rawat (Cultural & Academic In-Charge), Mr. Anoop Negi (Registrar, UIM) and Mr.Anand Rawat (Lab In-charge UIM).
