A two-week Faculty Development Programme on “Pedagogical Tools & Research Methods” was organized by Department of Management, UIM, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun from 11 July, 2016. This FDP concluded on 24th July, 2016. Dr. Parikshit Kala and Dr. Deepti Sharma were the Session Resource Persons.
Dr. Parikshit Kala spoke at length on the finer aspects of how to write quality research paper and pedagogical tools & techniques for teaching. He informed faculty members about ways to carry effective literature review, the best pedagogical tools for research and teaching.
Dr. Deepti Sharma informed faculty members about how digital technologies changes our life, ways of communication ,way of thinking , feelings, channels of influence on other people , social skill and social behavior. She also informed that modern technology offers many means of improving the teaching and learning process in the classroom.
This Programme was designed to provide an exposure to the fundamentals of pedagogical tools and research method so as to develop the various strategies pertaining to teaching for effectively improving the process of teaching- learning.
The FDP also provided participants with the guidelines to develop conceptual clarity of the pedagogical techniques and research methods. The participants learnt to develop methods for solving problems related to advance topics, learn and experiment with pedagogical tools, and gain familiarity with essential aspects of carrying out research studies.
The FDP was attended by 20 participants.
In the Valedictory Session, Prof. (Dr) Pradeep Suri praised the endeavour of UIM Team in conducting the two week FDP and emphasized upon the need of conducting such events on a regular basis for the knowledge enhancement of the faculty. Dr. Sonal Sharma proposed the Vote of Thanks towards all for their active participation in the programme.
