Department of Computer Applications, Uttaranchal Institute of Management, organized a 14-day Faculty Development Program on “Data Analytics Techniques Using Python” from 10 to 23July, 2019
Dr. Sonal Sharma (HOD-IT) was the Master of Ceremony. She expressed her gratitude towards Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi for his support in organizing the Training Programme. She also thanked Prof.
(Dr.) Pradeep Suri for his leadership, Mr. Ashok Kumar (Director-Ensino) and Senior Trainer Mr. Savood Ahmed for their wonderful teachings. She further summarized the skills addressed and developed in the programme, listing them as follows:
- Open-source data science libraries in Python including NumPy, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn and Pandas etc.
- Working with data, Splitting data
- Data Visualization Techniques.
- Creation of GUI applications.
- Histogram & Pie Charts, Auto-correlation.
- Introduction to CloudSQL, Cloud Instances.
- Creating and managing MySql.
- Scrapping Techniques for capturing and analyzing data from Social Networking sites.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi praised the endeavor of the UIM Team in conducting such a relevant Training Programme and emphasized upon the need to conduct such events on a regular basis for the knowledge enhancement of the faculty. He also advocated inter-disciplinary research among different departments of the University. He motivated to channelize such advanced learning towards writing in-House or Government-sponsored projects.
Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, in his address, emphasized upon the need for the faculty to learn all new tools and techniques and deliver them to the students to prepare them for the industry.
Thereafter, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) NK Joshi distributed Participation Certificates to all the participants of the Training Programme.
Dr. Sonal Sharma thanked all for active participation in the programme, thus, making it a success.
