Department of Computer Applications, Uttaranchal Institute of Management, organized a 5-day Faculty Development Program on, “Big Data Analytics Using Python” in collaboration with ‘Ensino Research and Development’ from 9th to 14th April, 2020.
Dr. Sonal Sharma (HOD-IT) initiated the Virtual Session with a speech on the need of conducting these types of sessions during the lockdown. She welcomed Mr. Ashok Longwani (Director-Ensino), Senior Trainer- Mr. Saud Ahmed and Mr. Saurabh Pant (Trainer and Developer-Ensino, Haldwani Branch).
On Day 1, Mr. Saurabh Pant commenced by explaining the relevance of Python Programming Language in Data Analytics. Mr. Pant revisited the basic concepts of Python Programming to build a rapport with the viewers. He further moved on to explain complex concepts like numPy and Pandas. Each and every concept was explained thoroughly using examples and implementation. The First Session culminated with questions and answers.
On Day 2, Mr. Saud Ahmed elaborated on the practical implementation of data structure using Pandas. He also explained how to incorporate different sets of big data file in Python. The various techniques that can be applied to train the machine for Big Data Analytics were explained by the usage of extensive programs. Faculty Members were highly inquisitive to learn about the new traits.
For the next three days the experts trained the participants in Real Time Data Analysis using data available on Twitter, Facebook and Health Dataset.
The sessions were extremely interactive and helped the Faculty Members to upgrade themselves on these new emerging techniques.
All the participants were thankful to the organizers as well as the Trainers. Dr. Sharma proposed the Vote of Thanks. She expressed her gratitude towards Director-Ensino Mr. Ashok Longwani for being supportive during the lockdown period and providing experts for training. She also extended her gratitude towards both the trainers for their time and efforts.
