The Globe Club (Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment Club) of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, under the aegis of Uttaranchal University, organized a Debate Competition on ‘Infrastructure Development and its Impact on Environment’ on 23rd September, 2015 under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Pradeep Suri (Director-UIM).
Debate is one of the academic activities that gives students creative room to express what they feel. The length and breadth of knowledge that they gain through this is simply unparalleled. The event was held in the Seminar Hall of UIM and was graced with the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, Uttaranchal University, HOD – Management Dr. Devkant Kala & HOD IT Dr. Sonal Sharma along with faculty members.
The topic for the day was ‘Infrastructure Development and its Impact on Environment’. The teams were well prepared and convinced the audience of their beliefs and views. The participants, 90 in number, armed with statistics and data made their arguments more emphatic with their righteous facial expressions and voice modulation. Winner was Anmol Pratap Tomar and Runner-up was Mohd. Sameer Khan. They exhibited great oratory skill. The competition, an enthralling experience for the speakers as well as the audience, was executed by Mr. Manish Gurung (Head – Globe Club) and his team.
