The NSS Wing of the Uttaranchal University, conducted a Cleanliness Drive under Swachhata hi Sewa Campaign being launch by the Government of India from September 11, 2019 to October 2, 2019 with an aim to eliminate the use of plastic and to dispose of plastic waste with its proper recycling or for construction of roads as per the advice of Central Government.
In this campaign, the NSS Wing of Uttaranchal Institute of Management encouraged the students for shramdan by picking up plastic waste in the surroundings of Uttaranchal University and disposing it for effective recycling. Mr. Rakesh Semwal (NSS Coordinator, UIM) along with Mr.V.K.Tangri and Mr. Praveen Saini (Faculty Members – UIM) conducted the event with 20 students of UIM.
Shri. Jitender Joshi (Hon’ble Chancellor) appreciated the efforts of the entire team and Prof.(Dr.) N.K. Joshi (Vice Chancellor) pointed out that such campaigns must be held consistently to make the environment free of plastic waste. Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Director – UIM) emphasized upon cleaner environment, free from pollution. Dr.V.K.Srivastava (NSS Coordinator, Uttaranchal University) and Dr. Anshul Sharma (HOD-Management) were also present on the occasion.
