Uttaranchal Institute of Management celebrates ‘World Environment Day’

On the occasion of ‘World Environment Day’ a Plantation Drive was organized by Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, on 4 June 2022, under the aegis of Globe Club, UIM. The purpose of World Environment Day is to spread awareness about the threat to the environment due to rising pollution levels and climate change. The objective behind this practice is to plant more trees and respect Mother Nature in the process. Dean, UIM Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri initiated this event by planting the sapling of Indian lilac (Neem).

Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri informed that the entire university campus comes under Green Campus Project as per the policy of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of the Central Government, in which all the energy is being obtained through solar energy in the first phase. World Environment Day is the biggest annual event that takes place for positive environmental actions and has been celebrated since 1974. This is the day when every individual can show his love for nature. The day also enables one to be more responsible in the way they deal with their surroundings.

Dr Megha Aggarwal, HoD, Management, Dr Sonal Sharma, HoD, Department of Computer Applications, Mr Rohit Dhiman, Head, Globe Club, and Mr Abhishek Kumar Pathak DIQAC, UIM along with other Faculty Members and students were present on the occasion. All the present members on this occasion planted a sapling.
