School of Applied and Life Sciences is organizing a Faculty Development Programme on “Advances in Applied Research and Analysis” from 18th to23rd July 2019. The FDP was inaugurated on 18th July, 2019. The programme initiated with the lighting of the Inaugural Lamp by Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi (Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University); Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh (Principal- School of Applied and Life Sciences); Dr.Kulbir Kaur (Professor, Guru Nanak Girls College, Yamuna Nagar); Dr. R.P. Singh (Professor, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamuna Nagar) and Dr. Shuchi Upadhyay (Head – Department of Food Technology, SALS).

In his speech Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi appreciated the efforts made by College of Applied and Life Sciences in the field of Research, Training Programmes, FDP, Conferences and the like. Principal-SALS Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, in his address, briefed about the details of the one week FDP and emphasised upon the use of recent technology for the welfare of mankind and environment.

During the First Session Dr. Kulbir Kaur discussed the latest techniques involved in nutrition and dietetics. She emphasized on application of applied research in industry as well as daily life.

In the upcoming sessions of FDP many eminent guests from varied academic backgrounds, like, Prof. Vineet Kumar (Chemistry), Prof. Janardan Joshi (Physics), Prof. J.P. Bhattare (Biotechnology), to name a few, would be delivering lectures.

The Inaugural Session was anchored by Ms. Bindu Naik. More than 55 Faculty Members participated in the FDP. Dr. V.K. Srivastava (HOD Mathematics), Dr. B.S. Rawat (HOD Physics), Dr. Nishesh Sharma (HOD Biotechnology) were present on the occasion.
