An Educational Tour was organized by School of Agriculture from 4th – 8th April, 2018 The students visited Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, accompanied by Dr. J.P.Mishra (Principal-SOA), Dr. Pooja Kaintura (Assistant Professor-SOA), Mr. Rajkamal Mishra (Assistant Professor-SOA) and Mr. Dheeraj Bisht (Field Supervisor- Uttaranchal University). The Educational Tour was followed by an excursion to Nainital.
The trip was flagged off by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi and Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi on 4th April, 2018 at 5:30 pm.
The students reached G.B.Pant University of Agriculture & Technology at 4:00 am on 5th April. The accommodation was provided in Farmers Hostel (T&V). The Tour initiated with a visit to The Directorate of Extension where the students introduced themselves to the Director of Extension, G.B.P.U.A & T, Pantnagar followed by a visit of the University Library.
Next in schedule was the visit to College of Agriculture, Agriculture Information Center and the various departments of College of Agriculture. The students got an opportunity to meet and interact with the Dean of Agriculture Dr. J. Kumar.
On 6th April the students left for Nainital for the pre-planned excursion. Here the students enjoyed boating in Naini Lake, ropeway ride and witnessed the beauty of nature in abundance.
On 7th April the students visited Poultry Research Center (PRC), Livestock Research Center (LRC) and the College of Fisheries. In the afternoon session the students visited Floriculture Research Center, Seed Production Center of the University and Horticulture Research Center (HRC) and acquainted themselves with various research projects regarding Seed Production Program.
The tour proved to be invigorating and enhanced the subject competence of the whole team which returned to the campus on the morning of 8th April, 2018.
