Uttaranchal College of Applied and Life Sciences (UCALS) organized a one-day Training Programe on “Fire Safety and Maintenance of Equipment in Lab” on 3rd March, 2017. Prof (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal (UCALS) in his introductory address elaborated upon the causes of outbreak of unintended fires, effects of uncontrolled fire along with importance of adopting and practicing SOP while handling laboratory instruments.
The training programme was conducted in two technical sessions. In First Technical Session had aspects related to fire safety equipment’s and devices along with information about general fire safety considerations. Second Technical Session was attributed to proper handling of analytical laboratory instruments, their respective SOPs and associated safety guidelines. A total of 27 participants attended the training programme.
