“The Savoy Visit” on October 16, 2019 

Industrial Visits have its own importance in the career of a student who is pursuing a professional degree. It is considered as a part of college curriculum and the objective of Industrial Visit is to provide students an insight regarding internal working of companies. We know theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career. With an aim to go beyond academics, Industrial Visits provide a practical perspective of the professional world. Following the same lines students of Department of Hotel Management pursuing BHM got an opportunity to visit ITC “The Savoy Hotel” (Mussoorie) on 16th October, 2019. This interaction gave the students an exposure to current work practices as complementary to theoretical knowledge being taught in college.

The HODofDepartment of Hotel Management Mr. Manish Badoni says, “Industrial Visits provide an excellent opportunity to the students to interact with professionals and know more about industrial environment.”

Students and Faculty Members, namely, Mr. Shashi Kant and Mr. Surendra Bhakuni were welcomed by Mr. Nikhil Tomar from “The Savoy Hotel”.

Students enjoyed and were delighted with the refreshments provided. After refreshments Mr. Tomar conducted a PPT Session entitled “The Savoy”.

Students were surprised to know about the history and the facts related to the hotel.

Later the students were divided into batches which were led by HODs of the hotel. During the tour they came to know how the magnificent English Gothic Structure converted from a school to lodge and finally a five star deluxe destination. Students visited the entire area.

The tour ended near the lobby lounge where a 120 year old piano was kept which is believed to be carried by a single man on his back from Dehradun to Mussoorie.
