A young and enterprising group comprising B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering, II Year students of Uttaranchal University has successfully accomplished their Project and designed an “Electric Powered Car” in association with “Titlis Engg. & Projects Pvt. Ltd, Vadodara, Gujarat. The company is engaged in the field of Renewable Energy, Control Automation & System Integration. The car is designed to run through Electric Energy and presently has a seating capacity of 1 person (intended to be increased in the latter phase of designing).
The team of students including Prav Jha, Ayush Maikhuri, Shubham Das, Mayank Bora, and Ankit Rana worked under the guidance of Mr. Amit Kumar Pal and Mr. Avnish Kumar, Assistant Professor and Project Coordinator – Mechanical Engineering Department. The talent, hard work and self-confidence of the students was clearly visible through their achievement. Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr). N K Joshi & Dean-Engineering Dr. Badhai Lonia appreciated their effort and congratulated the students. Head of Mechanical Department Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi applauded their endeavour and gave his valuable technical advice.
To gain the required exposure the team had visited “Titlis Engg. & Projects Pvt.Ltd.” Vadodara, Gujarat and underwent a 4-week Industry Internship to develop their technical skills and know-how of electric vehicle constituent parts like motors & battery works. The students honed their practical skills and termed it their learning experience. The students expressed their gratitude towards the College Management and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Department for their technical support.
The project enabled the students to successfully assimilate their theoretical knowledge with practical application and learn the working and production of automobile parts used in an electric car. Though the car is a bit costly but requires only one time investment and saves time as there is no requirement of waiting in queue to fill up the fuel tank. The Electric Powered Car can bring in a revolution in the existing automobile industry.
