United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan (UNIC) and Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM), Dehradun organized an All India Essay Writing Competition. The topic for the competition was “A mind all logic is like a knife all blade. It makes the hand bleed that uses it (Rabindranath Tagore)”. Students from all the courses (i.e. BBA, BCA, B.Com.(Hons.), B.SC(IT), MBA and MCA) of Uttaranchal Institute of Management participated in this competition. A total of 29 essays were received and after meticulous process of selection, coordinated by Head-GLOBE Club Dr. Mamta Bansal and Head-Marketing Club Mr. Shivendra Chaudhary, top 7 essays were selected at department level in Hindi and English medium respectively. Thereafter the selected essays were sent to SRCM for the forthcoming State and National. More than 14,000 educational institutes participated in the event.
In the Final Result 5 students of UIM got selected for foremost positions. Ms. Samaya Siddiqui of B.Sc.(IT) won the First Position at National Level and Mr. Rohit Kumar (BCA-IV), Ms Anju Patel (BBA-VI), Ms Saloni Khurana (B.Com.-IV) and Mr. Vishal Pandey (BCA-I) received ‘Certificate of Merit’.
Uttaranchal University received ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ which was awarded by UNIC and SRCM for outstanding contribution towards the success of this competition.
The awards were officially declared on 3rd February, 2019.
