Students of Department of Communication, Uttaranchal University participated in Media Conclave organized by Doon Business School, Dehradun on 5th March, 2019. The theme of the conclave was ‘Media and Governance: Impact and Challenges’. The event had a panel comprising of many Senior Journalists and Anchors of Media Industry.
The main idea of the event was to understand the political polarisation of News Agencies, E-News and the problems arising due to Sting Operations. Former CM of Uttarakhand Mr.Harish Rawat and Former CM of Uttarakhand Dr.Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank were the Chief Guests of the event. The Panel Experts included Ms. Deepti Rawat, Mr. Amarjeet Singh, Dr. K.K. Rattu, Mr. Dinesh Mansera, Mr. Anurag Tripathi, Mr. Rahul Kotiyal, Mr. Asit Dixit, Mr. Bhupendra Khandari, Mr. Sanjeev Kandwal and Mr. Shakti Singh Bartwal. All the Panel Experts were invited to give their views and opinions on different topics that were part of the Media Conclave.
The conclave included 3 sessions wherein the First Session covered the topic ‘Polarisation of News Channels in favour of political parties’, the panellists gave their opinions and told how this polarisation is affecting the news channels and news media agencies. Students of Department of Communication raised few good questions in this session of the program.
The Second Session covered the topic of ‘Impact of E-News trends on conventional News Media and Governance’ in which panellists Mr. Amarjeet Singh and Ms. Deepti Rawat Bhardwaj had a great debate which was enjoyed by students.
In the Third Session ‘The challenges and role of Sting Operation’ were discussed in which sting operation experts told about the problems of sting operations that were currently taking place.
Students of different colleges took participation in this Media Conclave. Department of Communication students gave their opinion & shared their experiences of this Media Conclave.
