Students of Department of communication participated in Program ‘Janmat – 2019’ on 18th March 2019. The program was conducted by DD News and included discussions on politics and 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Representatives of different parties from Uttarakhand participated in the discussion and answered the queries of the audience. They also cited solutions to the problems being faced by individuals and the society as a whole.
The representatives included Mr. Munna Singh Chauhan (BJP), Mr.Suryakant Dhasmana (Congress), Mr.Sachaan (Samajwadi Party), Mr.Diwakar Bhatt (Uttarakhand Kranti Dal) and Mr. Nishit Joshi (Senior Journalist). The representatives answered confidently to the questions raised on their tenure and their promises before elections. Moreover, the audience was free to blame and criticise the panellists for whatever they did and how they turned back from their promises.
There were different motions on the floor which were raised by the audience and the panellists had a great debate and discussions on some motions.
Students of Department of Communication, namely, Gaurav Negi, Avi Naman and Chirag Garg raised their queries and discussed their concerns with the representatives of Congress and Samajwadi Party. Akshat Maletha covered this program as a photographer. The program lended a good exposure to the students in terms of production and conduct of discussions. Students learnt about the production setup of a News Channel and also attained a practical exposure of what they were learning in class.
