Students of Civil Engineering of Uttaranchal University participated in the lecture series on ‘Concrete Structures and Earthquake Resistant Design’ organized by Indian Concrete Institute in association with Ultra Tech Cement on 6 Feb.,2014.
The lecture series focused on usage of concrete technology, in different fields of construction, such as RCC, its types; grades of cements and concrete in use at present in civil engineering applications. The prominent speakers at the program were Prof. Umesh Kumar Sharma from IIT Roorkee and Dr Achal Kumar Mittal from CBRI Roorkee. There was a question- answer round after the presentations in which the students keenly put up their queries to the expert speakers. Students gained knowledge related to modern developments in these fields. They also got an opportunity to interact with the experts in the Civil Engineering field and enhance their technical knowledge.
At Uttaranchal University skill enhancement of students is recognized as a vital process in imparting technical education.
