School of Agriculture (SOA), Uttaranchal University organized a Social Awareness Programme through Nukkad Natak under the aegis of Eco Club and NSS Unit. The event started at 3:30 pm with the welcome and felicitation of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi by Prof (Dr) Mahipal Singh, Dean, SOA accompanied by Prof (Dr) Sharvan Kumar, Dean, SLA, Prof (Dr) Babu Dharmarajan,  Dean, UCHC, Prof (Dr) Sanjeev Saha, Principal Polytechnic,  Dr Jitendra Kumar Sinha, HoD, USJMC, Dr Kartikey, Deputy Registrar (Planning & Governance), other dignitaries from different schools and departments, faculty members and students who witnessed the event. Through the Nukkad Natak performance, students of SOA ignited everybody on the current situation of Mother Earth. They created various scenes and explained the scenario at what level the human population had exploited the natural resources on the earth. They suggested methods for conserving the environment which is the only way through which humanity on the earth can be protected. They clarified the misconception of the society that “human beings are capable to save the earth”; actually, we should save ourselves from the bad situations we had created on the earth through urbanization and industrialization. If we can save our life and future from those adverse conditions, then the earth automatically will be saved. We should never forget that nature always gave us all its treasure, but we humans took it injudiciously. We led mother earth to this situation and exploited in all the way. The message was disseminated among all to save nature! Our earth! and humanity! Hon’ble Vice-chancellor appreciated the students’ performance and effort to convey their message through Nukkad Natak, he blessed all the participants and suggested for work honestly towards the conservation of the environment. Mr Jayanti Ballabh persuaded all the attendees to take a pledge to save the earth. The programme was concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the Head of the Department Dr Rajendra Prasad.
