A Seminar on “Green Chemistry” was organized by Department of Chemistry, UIT. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Ajay Singh (HOD-Chemistry). In his Inaugural Address, Dr. Ajay Singh delivered the Introduction and elaborated upon the need of Green Chemistry in modern times and the concept of Green Chemistry.
The invited speaker was Dr. Nishesh Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Chinmaya Degree College, Haridwar. Dr. Nishesh explained the Principles of Green Chemistry and told how each principle is significant and eco-friendly for environment and humans.
The seminar was co-ordinated by Dr. Waseem Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry. Faculty Members of Department of Chemistry, namely, Ms. Bharti Ramola, Dr. Poonam Negi, Dr. Harish Chandra Joshi along with around 62 students From Department of Chemistry, Physics and Biotechnology were present in the Seminar. The main objective of the Seminar was to make students familiar with different aspects of Green Chemistry and its applications in day to day life. The Presentation Session conducted was helpful in creating awareness among the students with regards to recent developments in research field.
