A Seminar on “Heterocyclic compounds and Applied Chemistry” was organized by Department of Chemistry, UCALS. The program was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr) Ajay Singh, Principal-UCALS. In his Inaugural Address, Prof. Ajay Singh delivered the Introductory Note on Heterocyclic Compounds and the need of its research and synthesis.
The Guest Speaker was Dr. Amita B. Sati Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Dolphin P.G Institute of Biomedical Science and Research, Dehradun. She explained about nomenclature, numbering system, reactivity, stability of heterocyclic compounds and role of compounds in the field of various synthesis. The seminar was co-ordinated by Dr. Waseem Ahmad, Assistant Professor Department of Chemistry. Faculty Members of Department of Chemistry, namely, Dr. Bharti Ramola, Dr. Poonam Negi. Dr. Harish Chandra Joshi and Dr. Naveen Chandra Joshi along with a 75 number of students From Department of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Food Technology were present in the Seminar. The main objective of the Seminar was to make students familiar with Heterocyclic compounds and their importance in industrial fields.
