School of Liberal Arts organizes a two-week online Faculty Development Programme on “New Ways of Learning and Teaching Methods in Covid-19 Pandemic”

School of Liberal Arts organized a two-week online Faculty Development Programme on “New Ways of Learning and Teaching Methods in Covid-19 Pandemic from 25 February, 2021 to 13 March, 2021.

As schools and colleges were shut down as a preventive measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 the educators decided to reshape the mechanism of imparting lessons. The changes included shifting to online teaching process, conducting online assessments and creating content suitable for remote learning using different tools & technology. However, shifting from ‘offline mode’ to ‘online mode’ has its own challenges as each student has his/her own pace of studying. While some may need more time others may need more material to achieve the same outcome.

As we find solutions to these challenges we see glimpses of the future of learning. The crisis has led to some elements of learning being changed permanently.

Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Kulshrestha, Head-Mass Communication Department, SGRR University, Dr. Sayar Ahmad Mir, Associate Professor-Mass Communication Department, Graphic Era Hill University and Dr. Muddasir Sultan, Assistant Professor Mass Communication Department, Subharti University, Meerut were the Keynote Speakers.

Before officially inaugurating the online Faculty Development Programme Prof. (Dr.) Shriya Goyal, Dean-School of Liberal Arts delivered the Welcome Address and stressed on the need of such programs in the unprecedented times and said that the teachers’ ability to engage students in debate and discussion, to mentor, coach, to inspire and to motivate is difficult to replicate in the online format and these sessions will definitely improve the overall teaching learning process of every participant.
