School of Applied and Life Sciences organizes an Aerobics Workout Session under ‘Fit India Movement’

Department of Food Technology, School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, organized an Aerobics Workout Session under ‘Fit India Movement’ on 8th February, 2020. The event was open for all the interested faculty members and 122 students of Uttaranchal University participated in the event.

The session was conceptualized and organized by Dr. Shilpa Sharma (Coordinator of Department of Food Technology) under the motivation of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi and Principal-SALS Dr. Ajay Singh. The Aerobics Session was led by Dr. Shuchi Upadhyay along with Faculty Members, namely, Ms. Nitika Rathi, Dr. Shweta Singh and student leaders, namely, Mr.Shashank, Ms. Jaya Kharkwal, Ms. Palak Chabra & Ms. Arnika Baliyan. The session started with a 10 minute warm-up exercise followed by a 30 minute workout program comprising of 10 minute cardio, 10 minute strengthening and 10 minute stretching exercises. The Aerobics Workout Session was intended to be conducted every Saturday to keep the students physically and mentally fit and thus uphold the intent of ‘Fit India Movement’.

Dr. Ajay Singh, Dr. V. K Srivastava, Dr. B.S Rawat and Dr. Bharti Ramola participated in the Aerobic Session. The session was enjoyed by one and all present.
