School of Agriculture organizes ‘Yoga Session’

School of Agriculture organized ‘Yoga Session’ on 12th December, 2019 in the Ground Floor of Agriculture Block. Conducting Yoga Activity is included in the curriculum of B.Sc. (Hons.) First Year students and carries 100 Marks. The curriculum requires the conductance/ organization of any one from the option of Yoga/NCC/NSS.

SOA organized ‘Yoga Session’ to generate awareness among students towards physical and mental health. All the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) First Year participated in the activity with full enthusiasm and zeal. The Session initiated with Jogging through the University Campus. T. Naveen Kumar and Dhananjay Kumar of First Year volunteered to conduct the Session. They commenced by explaining the benefits of Yoga in life. Prof. (Dr.) J. P. Mishra, Principal-SOA told the students that Yoga is important for everyone’s life as it helps in balancing the relationship between body and mind. It is a type of exercise which helps in learning physical and mental discipline through regular practice. The event comprised of different Yoga Asanas and included Suryanamaskar, Pranayama, Kapalbharti, Shavaasan and Anulom Vilom.

The Session concluded with a session of Laughter Therapy which depicted the importance of happiness in everyone’s life. The event ended with an oath taken by the students affirming that they will exercise, follow a healthy lifestyle and ensure happiness in life.
